Employers that relocate employees from the U.S. to countries around the world often require assistance in procuring the appropriate work permit or visa from the destination country’s government.

In addition to the countries listed above, Ogletree Deakins has been able to obtain visas to other countries on a case-by case basis.  Often, the firm works directly with the consulate or embassy of the foreign country in the United States to procure visas for U.S. citizens or permanent residents or even third country nationals temporarily in the United States to a foreign country.

Ogletree Deakins assist clients seeking foreign or “outbound” permits and visas by providing the client with consultation of the appropriate visa category based upon the duties the employee will perform and the duration of the assignment.   Ogletree Deakins’ assembles the visa application package and send it either by courier, or in person for rush cases, to the appropriate consulate or embassy.

In many foreign countries, obtaining a short-term or long-term work visa entails working with foreign government agencies within the country.  Ogletree Deakins established relationships with foreign immigration attorneys and visa service providers in the listed countries to provide the services to its clients.

In most instances, Ogletree Deakins’ clients have established offices in the destination country and the firm is able to work with the clients' organizations to coordinate the appropriate in-country visa work.  Ogletree Deakins’ tailors its services with each client to develop procedures to obtain the necessary foreign visa on a cost-effective, timely basis with minimal administrative burden on the company's resources.

Ogletree Deakins’ expatriate visa services are priced on a flat fee basis.  Ogletree Deakins has also been able to negotiate a flat fee agreement with many of its foreign liaison attorneys enabling the client to know the full amount of the fee in advance for budgeting purposes.
